As a young woman I went on an extended road trip with my partner. First there was a car, then a van, eventually a bigger van. We adopted two shelter pups. We drove around. It became a never-ending movement from place to place, living in several cities, traveling to others, and even moving out of the country for a few months. My twenties was a decade ‘when home was elsewhere’, the perfect place, forever out of reach. This book is a selection of photographs I took during those years, looking at the world around me, trying to recognize in it something that would ground and hold, against the inevitability of motion.
